A 2nd container arrived January 2005. |

There was tremendous excitement as the villagers saw it arrive. Unfortunately, it was around 7pm when we began to unload it, so most of it was done in the dark. Everyone turned out to help. After a few moments, it began to thunder and lightning. They thought the container had brought the blessing, because it is a very dry area and they needed rain. |

We have kept the first container and use it as a useful store next to the teacher's accommodation block. |

Bedwellty Comprehensive School is closing down in July this year. Their school badge is a phoenix. They have had a plaque made with the name of our school in Uganda and the name of their school in Wales, with the phoenix in between. They see their school dying and out of the ashes a new school arising in Uganda.

Our compound looks much nicer with the plants laid out in the shape of our EZRA logo - the semi-circle with the rays of the sun going out.

We are hoping to send another container in July. Bedwellty School are trying to raise the money to pay for the next one.

The borehole, which became operational in April last year has really improved the health of the villagers. A recent report from one of the teachers said that not one child has been absent from school with sickness since the school opened! The good drinking water has helped, but also the porridge given to the children in the morning. This has the leaves of the maringa tree added to it. They have antimalarial qualities and contain many nutrients.

Here are the children sitting under the tree eating their porridge.

This is the cotton which has been harvested on our land. The money was donated by an English group in Bedwellty Comprehensive School. The investment means that the money they donated has been doubled and will be used to grow maize and beans etc. to feed the children for the next year.
