EZRA'S ACTION PLAN FOR YEAR JULY 2005 - JULY 2006

JULY 2005 - FEBRUARY 2006

KING'S PRIMARY SCHOOL:

Construction of the first eight classrooms is complete and the head teacher’s room and four of the classrooms are in use. During the next few months a screed needs to be put on the floor of the remaining four classrooms and glass put in the windows so that they are ready for use in February.

The bore hole was re-drilled in February 2004, but we soon hope to add the further benefit of a header tank. This will enable us to pipe the water and will aid irrigation of the land.

We now have the land title in our possession and shall grow food on the land for the children’s school meals.

To alleviate the fear of the Karimajong and increase security for the children and school property, we propose to erect a high metal fence to encircle the school compound.

In July 2005, a container will be sent to Uganda containing books, school furniture and computers etc. A party of eleven people from the UK will be arriving in October to allocate and sort out the container contents. Several teachers are in the party and will be carrying out teacher training programmes for our teaching staff.

At this time, 60 more children shall be recruited into the school ready for official entry in February 2006. Two more teachers shall be appointed to teach these two extra classes.

King’s Primary School has been given a temporary license to operate. The criteria will hopefully be met for a permanent lease this year.

EVANGELISM

The church plant in Bunambutye has become too big for the Christians to have real fellowship together, so they shall be encouraged to meet together in smaller groups and live in relationship with one another on a daily basis. Groups will be geographical to enable sharing of their everyday lives and needs.

CHILD SPONSORSHIP:

Since the opening of the school in May 2004, the child sponsorship scheme has changed in operation. Individual children are no longer sponsored, because of a desire to benefit all children. The sponsorship money will continue to be pooled and provide free education for all children in the school. The monthly donations from supporters in the UK will pay for the staff wages; school books and materials and a school meal each day. When we have sufficient donors, the school will be largely self-financing. Large fundraising

events in the UK will be centred on the future construction work needed.

FEBRUARY - JULY 2006

KING'S PRIMARY SCHOOL:

Beginning of new school year with 60 new pupils and two new teachers in situ.

Provision of a further meal at lunchtime for P3 pupils.

Start to obtain estimates for the construction of the next classroom block.

COMMUNITY HEALTH

Arrange the visit of a community health worker to check the health of all pupils.

SCHOOL SPONSORSHIP

Continue to seek sponsors to cover the extra pupil intake, teaching staff and school meal.

EVANGELISM

Encourage evangelism within the school, especially prayer at the beginning of each day for children and staff, alike.
